The Libyan Cardiac Society Pediatric Cardiology Working Group hosted three-day hands-on course on Transesophageal Echocardiography for Congenital Heart Disease between January 22-24, 2023 at the National Heart Center Benghazi. The course will started with didactic session on Sunday afternoon at 3 PM lectures, followed by hands-on training sessions on the next two days of the course. Twelve pediatric cardiologists attended the course from several cities.

Course Objectives:

1). Learn the proper transesophageal ultrasound probe manipulation

2). kwon the basic transesophageal echocardiographic views

3). Detect pulmonary veins drainage anomaly and identify atrial septal defect (ASD) rims to guide percutaneous ASD closure

4). Detect cardiac masses, tumors, valve vegetations and clots
